One local business does not know the extent of damages incurred after its building was hit by a 65-year-old woman Thursday morning.

“It did shift the building a bit,” said Village Cooperative sales and marketing coordinator Sue Furland.

“She just hit the corner, kind of moved the deck…,” she added. “But you can’t even see it.”

According to Austin Police Chief Paul Philipp, the woman said she hit the accelerator instead of the brake while pulling into a parking stall around 7 a.m. Thursday at 2301 10th St. N.W. The chief said the woman was transported to Austin Medical Center by Gold Cross ambulance due to facial injuries.

There is no damage estimate, according to Furland, who said she still awaits a visit from the insurance agent.
