Sylvia Percival

Sylvia Julianna Percival, 92 of Rochester, formerly of Austin and Des Moines, Iowa, died on June 10, 2008 at Rysella Adult Foster Care in Rochester.
She was born Aug. 27, 1915 in Mountain Iron, Minn., to Walter and Lempi (Kaipainen) Saari. She graduated from high school and worked as a legal secretary in Rochester. Sylvia was married to L. Kenneth Percival on July 12, 1941 in Rochester. They lived in Austin and later moved to the Des Moines area where she worked as an administrative assistant for the State of Iowa. Sylvia was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and an avid baseball fan that loved to watch the Twins. She returned to Rochester following her husband’s death in 1998.
She was preceded in death by her husband, sister, two brothers and a nephew.
Sylvia is survived by her nieces, Jane Blatti, Mantorville, Minn., Pamela Ferlitto, Pine City, Minn.; three Grand nephews.
A private family service will be held at Grandview Cemetery in Austin. The family prefers memorials to the donor’s choice.
