Mower County’s new planning and zoning administrator Angele Knish was introduced to the county board members Tuesday.
Knish replaces Daryl W. Franklin, long-time planning and zoning administrator, who retired.
Knish will also take over the feedlot enforcement duties previously held by Lowell Franzen, who resigned the position after the Lyle Township feedlot controversy involving Holden Farms, Inc., Northfield.
Jeff Weaver will be Knish’s assistant on feedlot issues.
Craig Oscarson, county coordinator, introduced Knish to the county board members. Richard P. Cummings, 1st District and chairman of the board, extended the commissioners’ welcome to Knish.
The new administrator grew up in Dodge County, but comes to the Mower County job from Waseca County.
Also Tuesday, the commissioners paid their respects to Carol Cariveau, who is retiring after 12 years with the county. Both Bruce Henricks, county department of human services director, and Margene Gunderson, director of public health nursing service, praised Cariveau hard work for the county and her loyalty.
