Mankato beats Blue Sox

The Austin Blue Sox (3-8 overall) lost to the Mankato Twins 7-1 in amateur baseball game in Mankato Wednesday night.
The Blue Sox scored first an RBI by Andy Swank to score Nick Johnson, who led off the inning with a double.
“We were feeling pretty good with a run and Sean (Breslin) on the mound,” Blue Sox manager Josh Kunze said. “Then we gave them two back (in the bottom of the first) and our errors added up. Mankato is a perennial state power in Class B and you can’t give them extra outs.”
Casey Toops was 2-of-3 for the Blue Sox, who open there league season with a game against the Greyhounds Friday at 8 p.m. at Marcusen Park.
