‘Cops for a Cure’ Wednesday

The Austin Police Department presents “Cops for a Cure” Wednesday, June 18 at the Bandshell Park Pavilion to support donations for the Relay For Life cancer fundraiser.
The department will conduct K-9 unit and other demonstrations for visitors, who can donate $5 for hot dogs and chips, to support the cause.
According to a press release, food will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m.
“We participated in Relay For Life last year, and this year we’re trying to do a little more,” Austin Police Chief Paul Philipp said.
Relay For Life is an overnight nationwide event founded by the American Cancer Society. It is scheduled to take place at Mill Pond Aug. 1-2.
