Unknown suspects responsible for the theft of $5,000 worth of equipment from a local business may have entered the store through an unlocked back door, according to Austin Police Chief Paul Philipp.
Philipp stated Precision Sign, located at 209 South Main St., was robbed of various computer equipment and miscellaneous items between 7:45 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday.
The owner, Jon Voyer, said the back door had been left unlocked following closing. Among items stolen were a laptop, cash box, cameras and a $3,000 program key, according to the chief.
Investigations continue, he said.
