Woman gets probation for drug possession, child endangerment

The Austin woman who turned herself in on an arrest warrant in April after missing a January sentencing hearing for a methamphetamine conviction was sentenced to 21 months stayed prison time and 10 years probation in Mower County District Court Friday.
Angela Dawn Martin, 31, pleaded guilty Sept. 14 to single counts of third-degree drug possession and gross misdemeanor child endangerment for her part in several meth sales to a confidential police informant between May and July 2006.
According got the criminal complaint, at least one of the transactions took place in front of one of her children. A July 2006 search warrant at their Sixth Street Northwest yielded a pistol, drug paraphernalia and other items.
A second accomplice, Rogelio Rodriguez-Sanchez, 64, was also charged with drug crimes and sentenced to 58 months in prison.
Martin must serve 60 days in jail, 60 hours of community service and pay a $50 fine as part of her probation. She was also sentenced to 365 days for the child endangerment and a separate DWI charge. All penalties are concurrent.
