The Packer baseball team (5-11 overall, 4-11 Big Nine) lost at John Marshall (14-2 overall) by a score of 14-4 in Rochester Tuesday night.
The Rockets scored eight runs in the first two innings and started the game off with five straight hits — including three doubles and a triple.
“They really came out swinging the bat real well,” Austin head coach Troy Watkins said. “Dylan (Monson) left the ball up a little and they took advantage.”
Austin relief pitcher Brady Klingfus came in and held the Rockets to two runs over just under four innings, and the Packers crept to within 9-4 in the sixth inning. But they left the bases loaded in that frame and JM scored five in the bottom of the sixth to end the game.
