The Southland baseball team (14-2 overall) cruised to a 7-0 win at Lewiston/Altura (8-6 overall) Monday night.

Southland senior pitcher Brian Voigt struck out a season-high 17 hitters as he allowed just two hits and two walks in his shutout win.

“Brian pitched very well tonight,” Southland head coach Scott Retterath said. “He kept them off-balanced with his fastball and curveball.”

Matt Schroeder was 4-of-4 with an RBI and two runs for Southland and Voigt was 2-of-3 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs.
