The Packer boys golf team took fourth out of eight teams in the Northfield Invite Thursday.
Austin, which scored a 328, was just seven three strokes behind Century and Apple Valley, which tied for second. Mankato West won the meet with a 307.
“We missed second by just a couple of strokes and any of our guys could’ve made that up,” Austin head coach Will Pazurek said. “The guys didn’t play bad, but they know they can do better.”
Drew Osier finished five over par with a 79 for Austin. Osier shot a 44 in the first nine holes, but recovered with a 35 down the back nine.
“Their course played tough and it always does,” Pazurek said. “The greens were fast and that was the story of the day.”
