Austin police investigated a two-vehicle intersection collision Monday afternoon.

The mishap occurred at 2:04 p.m. at the intersection of First Avenue NW and Eighth Street NW.

According to an Austin Police Department report, Neil Hemmer, 88, of Austin, failed to yield for an oncoming vehicle driven by Nakisha Philipps, 19, of Austin.

Philipps was taken to Austin Medical Center by a Gold Cross Ambulance Service crew for observation. She did not show signs of physical injury, according to the report. Hemmer was uninjured.
