Clifford A. DeFor, 78
Clifford A. DeFor, 78, of Austin, died Sunday, July 27, 2003, at his home.
He was born Aug. 8, 1924, in Austin, to Floyd and Emma (Hansen) DeFor.
He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946.
On Dec. 17, 1944, he married Josephine Butcher in Worthington.
Clifford worked at Prudential as an insurance agent for many years before the couple owned an antique store called The Curiosity Shop.
Clifford was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Odd Fellows Lodge, Olaf B. Damn Post #1216 V.F.W. and Austin Post # 91 American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine DeFor, Austin; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Red Levorson, Northwood, Iowa; Paula and Robert Martinsen, Lyle; sons and daughter-in-law, Donald DeFor, Austin; Clifford and Meg DeFor, Prior Lake; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters-in-law, Ethel DeFor, New Hope; Erna Walker, Austin; nieces, nephews and cousins
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Max, Kenneth and Vernon; grandson, John.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today, July 29, 2003, at the mortuary and Wednesday at the church for one hour before the service.
Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Patricia M. Toschak officiating. Casket bearers will be Kenneth DeFor, Dale DeFor, Stephen DeFor, Tom Fauskee and Mike Fauskee.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Austin, with Olaf B. Damn Post # 1216 V.F.W. and Austin Post # 91 American Legion in charge of military rites.
Funeral Home: Clasen-Jordan Mortuary, Austin.
