Dallas E. Powers, 82

Dallas E. Powers, 82, formerly of Kasson, died Monday, July 14, 2003, at Prairie Manor Nursing Home, Blooming Prairie, of natural causes.

He was born Aug. 1, 1920, in Millersburg, Iowa. He grew up in Iowa and Wisconsin.

On Feb. 24, 1945, he married Olga Martin in Colby, Wis. The couple farmed in the area until moving to rural Stewartville in 1947, then to rural Dexter. They moved to Kasson in 1983 and to Blooming Prairie in 2000. Dallas was a resident of Prairie Manor Nursing Home for about three years.

He was a member of First Congregational Church in Mantorville.

Survivors include his wife, Olga, Blooming Prairie; sons, Roger (Beverly) Powers, Blooming Prairie; Larry (Janet) Powers, St. Michael; three grandchildren; brother, Donald (Mardell) Powers, Dodge Center.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Visitation: One hour before the service. There will be no reviewal.

Service: 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2003, at First Congregational Church in Mantorville with Pastor Jerry Platz officiating.

Interment: Maple Grove Cemetery, Kasson.

Funeral Home: Dibble Funeral Home, Kasson.
