Church reports break-in

First United Methodist Church of Austin was the scene of an attempted burglary.
According to an Austin Police Department report, thieves broke two windows to gain entrance.
However, once inside nothing was disturbed.
The break-in at the church located on Seventh Avenue SE occurred sometime overnight Wednesday and was discovered Thursday.
A rash of church burglaries in Austin were reported at Grace Lutheran Church also on the city's east side as well as St. John Lutheran-Missouri Synod, First Baptist, Cornerstone Assembly of God and Faith Evangelical Free in June.
All occurred Sunday evenings and included vandalism to the church interiors.
No arrests have been made.
Skull, jewelry stolen
Austin police are investigating a house burglary, that netted the thief a human skull and jewelry.
According to an Austin Police Department report, the theft occurred between July 6 ant 10.
Entrance was gained by breaking a window in a front door in the 1100 block of Ninth Avenue SW.
The skull was being used for an anatomy experiment, according to the report.
