Irene G. Thompson, 63
Irene G. Thompson, 63, of Albert Lea, died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at Austin Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 11, 1940, in Albert Lea, to Thor and Gladys (Wangen) Sanders.
As a teenager she was the organist for Hayward Lutheran Church. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1958.
On June 15, 1962, she married Richard H. Thompson at the Oakland Lutheran Church. They had one daughter.
Irene was a member of Oakland Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing piano and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Kent Riskedahl, Austin; two grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Paul Soli, Cottage Grove; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Thor Sanders, Jr.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today, June 30, 2003, at the mortuary and Tuesday at the church for one hour before the service.
Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oakland Lutheran Church with the Rev. Don Deines officiating. Casket bearers will be Dan Thompson, Elwood Wangen, Odin Soli, Darren Heidbreder, Scott Olson and TJ Sanders.
Interment: Oakland Lutheran Cemetery, Oakland Township.

Selma A. Perkins, 95
Selma A. Perkins, 95, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar.
She was born April 4, 1908, in Deer Creek Township, Iowa, to John and Maria (Gordon) Johnson.
She was baptized and confirmed at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, where she was a lifelong member. She graduated from Otranto High School, Otranto, Iowa, in 1926.
On Aug. 13, 1927, she married Randall Perkins of Lyle. They lived in the Lyle area for 58 years. Following Randall's death in December 1985, Selma moved to the Worth Living Center in St. Ansgar, Iowa. After failing health and vision, she became a resident at the Good Samaritan Center.
Survivors include her daughter, Helen Funk, Osage, Iowa; son, John (Ludmilla) Perkins, Cresco, Iowa; six granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Maynard Johnson, Northwood, Iowa; sister-in-law, Mary Johnson, Northwood, Iowa; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Allan Perkins; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd and Minnie Johnson, Arthur Johnson, Viola Johnson; infant sister, Alice Johnson; son-in-law, Keith Funk.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at the funeral home.
Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, Iowa, with Rev. Wayne Ellingson officiating.
Interment: Deer Creek Cemetery, Carpenter, Iowa.
