Fay A. Coughlin, 80

A funeral Mass for Fay A. Coughlin will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 16, at St. Colum-banus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie with the Rev. Richard Dernek officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Coughlin, 80, of Blooming Prairie, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at the Austin Medical Center in Austin, Minn.

She was born July 14, 1922, in Barnesville, Minn.

Mrs. Coughlin was a member of St. Columbanus Catholic Church and a life member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary.

Survivors include her son, Robert (Sandy) Coughlin of Dodge Center, Minn.; three grandchildren: Theresa Olson of Dodge Center, Robert Coughlin Jr. of Claremont, Matthew Coughlin of Austin; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Ralph (Molly) Tucker; five sisters, Hazel Kelly of Bemidji, Elsie Sammons of Wilmar, Betty Robben of Franklin, Jean Moe of Wadena, and Darlene (Lloyd) Hendricks of Osakis. There are also many nieces, nephews, and other relatives surviving.

Her parents; her husband, Howard; her sister, Jesse; and three brothers, Bill, Woodrow, and Alfred preceded her in death.

A Ladies Rosary will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at Worlein-Blooming Prairie Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday for one hour before the service.

Kaylee Marie Wangen, infant

Kaylee Marie Wangen, infant newborn, of Austin, died June 13, 2003, at the Austin Medical Center.

She was born to Tasha Wangen.

Survivors include her grandparents, Dale and Brenda Wangen, Oakland; uncle, Nicholas Wangen, Oakland; aunt, Alice Wangen, Oakland; great-grandparents, Eldon and Ethel Norland, Austin, and Walter and Fern Wangen, Oakland; many great aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her great-great-grandparents.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the church on Monday, June 16, 2003.

Service: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Oakland Lutheran Church in Freeborn County with Rev. LaDonna Ekern officiating.

Interment: Oakland Lutheran Cemetery.

Merle Naomi Brodkast, 100

Merle Naomi (Ofstun) Brodkast passed away June 12, 2003.

Born August 19, 1902, in Oakland, Minn.

Preceded in death by brothers Burton and Burnal, brother and sister-in-law Arthur & Lillian Ofstun, brother-in-law Arthur Hansen, sister Vivian Ofstun and former husband Martin Brodkast.

Survived by sisters Leona Ofstun of Eagan and Marvel Hansen of Minnetonka, nephew Jeff (Judy) Hansen of Eagan.

Retired employee of Standard Oil Co. Thanks to the caring staff at Clare Bridge in Eagan.

Funeral service, 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Oakland Lutheran Church in Oakland, Minn. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial at the Oakland Lutheran Church Cemetery. Funeral Home: Werness Brothers.

Robert Cleo Johnson, 64

Robert Cleo Johnson, 64, 3111 15th Ave. SW, Minot, N.D., died on Tuesday June 10, 2003, in his home from an apparent heart attack.

He was born on August 10, 1938, in Austin, Minn., to Cleo and Betty (Hanson) Johnson. He was raised in Austin and attended school there. Bob entered the United States Air Force on February 10, 1961, and served as an aircraft electrical systems technician. He was honorably discharged as a Tech Sergeant on February 28, 1981, after being stationed at Glasgow, Mont. AFB, Kirtland, N.M. AFB, and Minot, N.D. AFB.

He had received the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Air Force Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 1 Silver Oak Leaf Cluster.

Bob was once married to Judy Ness and they made their home in Minot. Following his retirement from the Air Force they remained in Minot.

He was united in marriage to Susan Johnson Bratvold on June 4, 1988, in Minot. He was employed at the North Kmart store in the sporting goods and automotive departments. Also, he worked at the Minot American Legion Post for a time. He retired in February of 1995 from Kmart and had been employed by Trinity Nursing Home as a maintenance engineer until the time of his death.

Bob was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and a former member of the Minot American Legion Post No. 26. He especially enjoyed wood working, fishing and yard work. He was described by his family as easy-going and mild-mannered with others, but a perfectionist when it came to wood working. He was caring and helpful with a constant concern for the welfare of others.

He lived life to the fullest, but most importantly, he was a family man.

Brice (Cari) Johnson of Sauk Rapids, Minn.; Vanessa (Jeff) Salakar of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and Larissa Johnson of Fargo N.D.; step-children: Carrie (Bruce) Lagge of El Paso, Texas; and Michael (Crystal) Bratvold of Miles City, Mont.; grandchildren and step grandchildren: Blake Johnson; Joshua and Alexia Salakar; Jacob, Kobe and Braden Lagge; Carissa and Edward Bratvold; brothers: Donald P. Johnson of Waseca, Minn.; David G. (Judy) Johnson of Austin, Minn.; sisters: Janet (Marcus) Siewert of Lake City, Minn.; Janice Tucker of Largo, Fla.; Phyllis McAlister of Faribault, Minn.; Barbara (Bill) Richards of Barlett, Ill.; mother-in-law and father-in-law,

Leona and Lester Johnson of Minot; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Donna (Clarence) Hanson of Ruso, N.D.; Judy (John) Beck of Sartel, Minn.; Diane (Ed) Fager of Tulsa, Okla.; Lowell (Ellen) Johnson of Houston, Texas; Lyle (Robin) Johnson of Minot, N.D.; Bob's best friend and canine companion, Spunky; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brett; and brother, Curtis.

Funeral Service: Saturday at 2 p.m. in the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Minot, N.D.

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, N.D.

Visitation: Friday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot, N.D.
