Theresa Blanchard, 55

Theresa Rose "Terri" Blanchard, 55, of Spring Valley, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at her home of cancer.

She was born Jan. 12, 1948, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to William and Alma (Schroer) Schwering.

She graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1966. From 1966 to 1972 she was secretary at Folkestad Chevrolet in Kasson.

On May 8, 1971, she married Michael S. Blanchard of Byron, at St. John's Catholic Church in Dodge Center.

Starting in 1972, Terri worked in various capacities for the City of Spring Valley, as secretary at City Hall for several years, and managed the Municipal Liquor Store. When the liquor store was privatized, she had managed it for seven years. From 1995 until her retirement in 2002, she was receptionist for Dr. Brice Greene, DDS in Spring Valley.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Blanchard, Spring Valley; daughters, Jean Blanchard, Rochester; Jessica Blanchard, Spring Valley; son, Matthew Blanchard, Spring Valley; one granddaughter; sisters, Joyce (Clarence) Arndorfer, LeRoy; Jean Kramer, Missoula, Mont.; brother, Joe (Marilyn) Schwering, Claremont.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Nathan; three sisters and her twin brother.

Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2003, at the church with a 7:30 p.m. rosary and Tuesday for one hour before the service.

Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Spring Valley with Father Russell Scepaniak officiating.

Interment: St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery.
