The Austin track teams got a good look at the rest of its Section 1AA opponents with the running of the True Team Championships Thursday in Faribault.
With three events remaining, lightning forced a two-and-a-half hour delay. The final race, the 4×400-meter relay, began at 10:30 p.m.
Evan Sorenson crowned himself two-time champion during the meet, winning the 110-meter high hurdles in a meet-record time of 15.31 and tying for the top spot in the pole vault. He cleared 12 feet 6 inches, as did teammate James Dammen in fifth place.
Carl Bauer brought home second place in the 3,200 and ninth in the 1,600. The 4×200 relay team took in third.
The girls were led by Emily Johnson's third-place finish in the 400, clocking a personal-best time of 1:02.14. Johnson also took eighth in the triple jump.
Two relay teams -- the 4×200 and the 4×400 -- took second. Lisa Bue was fourth in the high jump and fifth in the 800.
Austin is scheduled to run again Tuesday, with the boys at John Marshall and the girls at Albert Lea.
