Prep golf: Jones is medalist for L/P

The Lyle/Pacelli girls' golf team saved their best golf for their last meet of the regular season, but it was not enough to overcome Glenville-Emmons, who prevailed 232-247 Thursday at Northwood Country Club.
"We did well today, for us," said L/P head coach Nancy Christensen.
Sammi Jones had a 45 for the low round of the afternoon for L/P, whose 232 tied their low score of the season.
The host Wolverines got a pair of 56s from Amber Weber and Jessica Boyum to lead their scoring effort.
Lyle/Pacelli finishes the season 2-8 in Southeast Conference play and 2-9 overall. They have their conference meet today before beginning sub-section play next Monday.

S/GM boys on a tear
The Southland/Grand Meadow boys' golf team drubbed Kingsland Thursday 160-195 behind another solid team effort
"Consistency has been our hallmark this year," said S/GM head coach Wayne Robertson.
S/GM's Bryan Peck was the medalist with a 38, although the rest of the team all shot 41 or better.
They improve to 28-6 and 5-4 in Three Rivers Conference play. S/GM hits the road today to take on Caledonia/Spring Grove for their final conference meet of the year. They begin sub-section play next Monday at Maple Valley Country Club.

S/GM girls eighth at TRC
The Southland/Grand Meadow girls' golf team shot a 483 to finish eighth at the Three Rivers Conference meet Thursday at Mount Frontenac.
Caledonia/Spring Grove dominated play with a 332, 68 strokes better than their closest competitor. They also had the top three golfers, led by Jacquelyn Hauser's 79.
Cathy Schneider had a 108 to pace S/GM, just beating out Charlotte Retterath's 112.
The Southland/Grand Meadow girls' team travels to Dover-Eyota today, with sub-sections coming up Monday at Stewartville.

Blossoms fall to JWP
The Blooming Prairie boys' golf team lost a close match to their hosts Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton to place second at a Gopher Conference tri-meet Thursday.
Steven Busho shot a 41 to lead the Blossoms, who had only five golfers available for the match.
Janesville had two of the three low rounds on the day with a 40 from Sean Finley and a 43 from Sean Mulcahy.
BP will be in action today at the Gopher Conference meet at New Richland.
