A day after clinching a share of the Southeast Conference crown, the Lyle/Pacelli baseball team will head into the postseason on a winning note after topping Schaffer Academy in a 15-14 slugfest.

L/P had a seven-run third inning in getting out to a 12-4 lead. But Schaffer responded with an eight-run uprising of their own to go up 14-12 after five.

Trailing by one going into the seventh, Nels Nelson had a solo home run to tie it up at 14-all. Peter Korfhage and Alex Halbach both reached and then were moved into scoring position by a balk from Schaffer starter Josh Melder. Caleb Martin followed with a base hit to give L/P the win.
