The eighth-ranked Austin softball team plays at 6 p.m. tonight at Todd Park against second-seeded Farmington in the finals of the Section 1AAA tournament.

Farmington defeated Lakeville 5-2 in the loser's bracket finals Thursday night to earn a rematch with the Packers, who prevailed 1-0 Tuesday night against the Tigers.

Austin (21-2), the top seed, has been to the state tournament in three of the last four years. The Section 1AAA champion will meet Section 2 winner Mankato East in the first round of state softball action Friday, June 6, at Caswell Park in North Mankato.

If Farmington should win tonight's 6 p.m. game, a deciding elimination game will be played immediately following.
