Blossoms get top seed

The Section 1A West Sub-Section baseball tournament kicks off today at Marcusen Park and Riverland College in Austin. Top-seeded Blooming Prairie has the only first-round bye.

The Blossoms took the top seed on the strength of a 14-5 season record. Lyle/Pacelli (11-3), in winning a share of the Southeast Conference, took the No. 2 seed. LeRoy-Ostrander/Grand Meadow (9-5) defeated Glenville-Emmons to end the regular season and earn that share of the SEC crown. LOGM gets the third seed and will face Southland (5-13) in today's opening round.

Lyle/Pacelli takes on No. 7 seed Medford at 5 p.m. at Marcusen Park, and the LOGM versus Southland game will follow at approximately 7 p.m.

Riverland hosts one game today, with No. 4 Glenville-Emmons taking on No. 5 Goodhue at 5 p.m. The winner will face Blooming Prairie in Thursday's semifinal round at 5 p.m. at Marcusen Park. The other semifinal will follow at 7 p.m.
