It was nice to see area residents come out in support of local troops during Tuesday's patriotism rally on the Mower County Courthouse lawn.

There will be people who will agree that invading Iraq was the right thing to do. On the flip side, there's others who believe

the United Nations should have had more time to find if Iraq was indeed harboring weapons of mass destruction.

Regardless, it's hard for us to see

the reasoning why we shouldn't support our fellow men and women who are fighting for our country, regardless of our political views.

We thank organizers for holding such an event. In times when there's much unstability in this world, it's nice to see that people are coming together to support our fellow citizens.
