Busho paces BP golfers
Coming off a big win in their invitational this past Saturday, the Blooming Prairie boys' golf team showed no signs of a letdown Monday, dispatching Gopher Conference power United South Central 167-174.
"They're probably the team to beat in our conference, so this is a big win for us," said BP head coach Erik Vigeland.
"They didn't shoot well today and we got really consistent scoring from all our guys."
Steven Busho continues to lead the way for the Blossoms, finishing with a 41. The rest of the team were right on his heels as all five teammates shot a 43 or better.
The BP girls' team was not as lucky however, dropping their match with USC 203-213.
Calla Swenson recovered from a rough weekend to post a 43 for the BP low score of the afternoon.
Both teams travel to Triton today.
Blossoms win own invite
The Blooming Prairie boys' golf team dominating the field of nine teams behind record-tying 73 from Steven Busho to win the Blooming Prairie Invitational.
"It was just an awesome day for us," Vigeland said. "Today proved what they can do when they want to do it."
Busho's 73 was not only good enough for medalist honors, but it tied the tournament record held by USC'S Mason Prange in 1997 and Pacelli's Pete Wagner in 1984.
Scott Krejci's 81 tied him for third place, while Blake Symes shot an 85 to finish seventh on the afternoon.
