William F. Rabine, 71
William F. Rabine, 71, of Austin, formerly of Elkton and Fifty Lakes, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, after cardiac arrest.
He was born March 31, 1932, in Dexter, to William and Elna (Rubin) Rabine. He attended Elkton School. He moved to St. Paul after the death of his father and was employed at Perfection Type.
On June 2, 1951, he married Betty Hoppin at the Dexter United Methodist Church.
After moving back to the Elkton area, William owned and operated a service station, drove school bus and was a bulk delivery dealer for Osmundson Oil Company for over 30 years. Following William's retirement in 1994, the couple moved to Fifty Lakes, returning to Austin in 2000 to be near family.
Survivors include wife, Betty Rabine, Austin; daughters, Valerie (David) Rabine-Young, Austin; Vicki (Peter) Kuhlmann, Rose Creek; Vanette (Jeff Sherman), Byron; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; mother, Elna Deyo, Austin; sisters, Arlene (Harvey) Buchite, Fifty Lakes; Inez (Gary) Schutte, Cambridge; father-in-law, George Hoppin, Austin; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, George Hoppin, Jr., Austin; William Hoppin, Rockford, Iowa; Douglas and Joan Hoppin, Salem, Ore.; Ruth and Dale Allen, West Concord.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Bruce.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today, April 4, 2003, at the funeral home and Saturday at the church for one hour before the service.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Dexter United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gregory Strunk officiating. Casket bearers will be Chris and Brenda Rasmussen, Chad and Becky Rasmussen, Kyle and Deborah Rasmussen, Josh Kuhlmann, Jodi Kuhlmann and Bruce Rabine, Jr.
Interment: Dexter Cemetery, Dexter.

Robert C. Fredrickson, 76
Robert Carlos Fredrickson, 76, of Hayfield, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at his home.
He was born Nov. 17, 1926, to Norman and Alma (Dahlen) Fredrickson in Hayfield.
He attended Hayfield High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946 on the USS Crater AK70.
On April 3, 1948, he married Elizabeth Fiebiger in Blooming Prairie.
Robert retired from Hormel Foods Corporation after 38 years of employment. He owned and operated Fredrickson's Sanitation of Hayfield for 17 years.
He was a member of the Hayfield American Legion, the Hayfield Lions, and the Hayfield Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed his family, grandchildren, bowling, ice fishing, and pheasant hunting with his sons in South Dakota.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Fredrickson, Hayfield; daughters, Kathryn (John) DeMaria, Hayfield; Patricia (John) Hayden, Parker, Colo.; Mary Beth Olson, Burnsville; sons, Stephen (Laura) Fredrickson, New Richland; David (Judy) Fredrickson, Shorewood; seven grandchildren; sister, Joan (Rollin) Miller, Rochester; sisters-in-law, Florence Fredrickson, Austin; Delores Fredrickson, Hayfield; brothers-in-law, Roy Winkler, Minneapolis; Bob Chaffee, Missoula, Mont.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2003, at the funeral home and Monday at the church for one hour before the service.
Service: Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield with Rev. Stephan Sandness officiating.
Interment: Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield with military honors by the Hayfield American Legion Rothie Post #330.
