Eugene Clennon, 58
Eugene (Pat) Clennon passed away at his home April 12, 2003, of cancer. He was surrounded by his family.
He was born to Eugene M. Clennon and Mary Lou (Dahmen) on Aug. 12, 1944, in Austin, Minn. He graduated from Austin High School in June 1962. He played varsity football and was also president of his class two years.
He enlisted in the Navy in July 1963, serving on the USS Independence during the Vietnam War. He received the Navy Commendation ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal with a Bronze Star, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He was discharged in July 1967.
He married Louise Bednar in January 1966. They had four sons. After being discharged from the Navy he was co-owner of Star Music & Vending and later Echo Lanes Bowling Center. He was last employed by United Building Centers, Austin, Minn. He belonged to American Legion Post 91 and VFW Post 1216.
He is survived by his father, Gene (Donna), Austin, Minn; mother, Mary Lou Clennon, Simpsonville, S.C.; brothers, Rodney Clennon, Greenville, S.C.; Scott (Trace), Columbia, S.C.; stepbrother, David (Becca) Voss; stepsister, Susan (Howard) Voss-Smith; former wife, Louise Clennon, Austin, Minn.; sons, Shane (Jennifer) Clennon, Fargo, N.D.; Todd (DeAnna) Clennon, Austin; Tom Clennon, Montana; and Jon (Stacy) Clennon, Mason City, Iowa; Joseph Patrick Tabor. He was also survived by long time companion, Kathy Tabor and family Chris Tabor, Viola Tabor, Bonnie Tabor, all of Austin; 11 grandchildren; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was a loving father, son, and brother who enjoyed family gatherings, hunting, fishing, and camping. His kindness, smile, and good humor will long be remembered by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Austin, Minn. Visitation with the family will be one hour before service. Worlein Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 91.

Florence V. Hansen, 93
Florence V. Hansen, age 93, of Oakland, Minn., died at Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea Tuesday, April 8, 2003.
She was born May 11, 1909, in Freeborn County, Minn. to Hans and Elizabeth (Wyant) Running.
Florence attended country school in Oakland Township and married Martin A. Hansen on Oct. 20, 1931, in Hayward. Florence and Martin made a trip to Denmark in 1971 to visit his sister and relatives.
A member of Oakland Lutheran Church, Florence enjoyed her membership of its mission circles, working at the church making meals and quilts for Lutheran World Relief and attending senior citizens dances in Austin. She also belonged to Royal Neighbors of America. She loved to have her grandchildren come over and enjoyed entertaining company, and playing bingo. She enjoyed making afghans and embroidering.
Survivors include daughter, Darlene Albrecht and her husband, Lester, of Mapleton; a son, Floyd Hansen and his wife, Hazel, of Albert Lea; six grandchildren, Ronald Albrecht of Mapleton, Larry Albrecht of Mankato, David Albrecht and his wife, Ann, of Lake Crystal, Steven Albrecht of Cleveland, Darrin Hansen and his wife, Stephanie, of Albert Lea, Lynda Rye and her husband, Richard, of Albert Lea; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister-in-law, Evelyn Running of Aberdeen, S.D.; special niece, Violet Todd of Oakland; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin, in 1996; twin brother, Floyd, in 1920; sister, Birdie Esterby; and brothers, Art and Clarence Running.
Casket bearers were Ron Albrecht, Larry Albrecht, David Albrecht, Steven Albrecht, Darrin Hansen, Richard Rye, Jr., and Linda Rye.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2003, at Oakland Lutheran Church with the Rev. LaDonna Ekern officiating. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, rural Oakland. Friends called at Worlein Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and at the church for one hour before the service.
