Hormel Foods recently received the Leadership Award from Dale Carnegie Training.

Dale Carnegie Training, based in New York, established the international award in 1985. The award is given to a company that places special emphasis on the development of its human resources, innovation and organizational creativity for the purposes of achieving its business objectives.

"Hormel Foods is known for having a tremendous loyalty within the company," said Mike Norman, president of Norman and Associates, the upper Midwest franchise holder for Dale Carnegie Training. "One of the reasons for that is they place a strong emphasis on the training and development of their people. They invest in them and the results show in consistent business results and commitment of its employees to the company.

"With all the challenges going on in corporate America today and the lessened level of trust and confidence, this is a company that stands out as a great example of what can be achieved from such a high level of dedication to employees."

Peter Handal, the president and CEO of Dale Carnegie, agreed.

"It is for these reasons that we want to acknowledge and recognize Hormel Foods and the leadership they show at every level within the organization."
