The Austin High School softball team has moved up from fifth to third in the latest Class AAA state rankings issued Tuesday.

The Packers are off to an 8-0 start in the Big Nine Conference and an 11-0 overall mark, powered by three wins to take the Elks Softball Invite title this weekend.

Austin hosts Rochester John Marshall today and Faribault Thursday at Todd Park. Both games begin at 5 p.m.
