The Former Doobie Brothers concert canceled

A Doobie Brothers performance just wasn't meant to happen in Austin, it seems.
The Former Doobie Brothers, which includes an original member of the band and plays Doobie Brothers hits, has had to cancel a third show in Austin. The lead singer was in a car accident, causing the band to cancel a four-city tour in the Midwest.
The Doobie Brothers were set to perform in 1978 at Riverside Arena. But what became known as a 100-year flood struck Austin and the show was postponed.
Two weeks later, they were scheduled to perform at the same venue. But another flood devastated the town in what became known as the twin 100-year floods.
The town again went without a Doobie Brothers performance.
The Former Doobie Brothers hoped to make up for the missed performances at a concert March 13 at the Paramount theater.
But last week, the Paramount was informed the show had been canceled.
"It's like fate," said Scott Anderson of the Paramount Theatre. "They're not supposed to come to Austin."
About 100 tickets were sold. Those who purchased tickets can get a refund from the Paramount. They can also receive credit for an upcoming Paramount show or substitute their ticket for one to the Boys of the Lough performance on March 29. The tickets for the Scottish band are the same price as the Former Doobie Brothers concert.
The Former Doobie Brothers concert will not be rescheduled, Anderson said.
