Supporting our troops is needed

No one likes the prospect of war. That is something many of us can agree on.
However, now that American and British forces have begun the task of disarming Iraq and forcing dictator Saddam Hussein to step down from power, it's time to rally behind our troops, regardless of our personal or political views of going to war.
America's husbands, wives, children and grandchildren are now fighting overseas and in harm's way. And there are hundreds more still in this country, gearing up for the prospect of being sent to the Middle East, Korea, or any other place where protection for democracy is needed.
As a result, there are nervous family members and close friends who will be glued to any news outlet offering the latest details. Further, many others will be monitoring America's progress to see if military action will truly be swift and severe, or if these strikes will drag out over the coming weeks and months.
Whether or not you agree with "Operation Iraqi Freedom", we ask that your thoughts and prayers are with our troops.
We may not all be agreement whether going to war is the right thing to do. However, we can all agree that no one wants to see any American perish in this conflict.
