Anne K. Thompson, 79

Anne K. (Tollerud) Thompson, 79, of Austin, Minn., died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at the Austin Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 8, 1923, in rural Austin to Albert H. Tollerud and Laura C. Bergh.

She married Donald E. Thompson on Nov. 28, 1953, at Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

Survivors include daughter, Laura A. Hunn (fiance, Robert L. Belshan), Austin; daughter, Kim Thompson, Austin; son, Kenneth D. Thompson, Austin; six grandchildren, Seth and Haley Thompson; Kelly, Mike and Heidi Hunn; Jared Krull; one great-grandchild, Landon-Dre Hunn; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.

She was a life-long resident of Austin. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at Grace Lutheran Church. Greg Mannel will be the minister. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Worlein Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church. Family prefers that donors choose where to send memorials.

Hazel O. Halstenson, 94

Hazel O. Halstenson, 94, of Austin, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Comforcare.

She was born May 12, 1908, in Decater, Ill., to Edward and Olivia Arnold. She married Carmen H. Halstenson on Jan. 9, 1943, in Austin.

Hazel lived in Austin for most of her life. She worked at Hormel Foods for over 30 years and was a deputy matron for Mower County for 10 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, antiques and spending time with family.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Barbara (Don) Walker, Omaha, Neb.; three grandsons; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Madge Erickson, Austin; brother, Clifford Arnold, Austin; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters and a great-grandson.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. today, March 3, 2003, at the funeral home and Tuesday at the church for one hour before the service.

Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery.

Rita A. Mans, 66

Rita A. Mans, age 66, of Blooming Prairie, died at her home early Friday morning, Feb. 28, 2003.

She was born July 14, 1936, to Nicholas J. and Dorothy M. (Guertin) Hobday in LeSueur, Minn. Rita grew up in Le Center where she graduated from McKinley High School and worked at Spors Company.

She married Lloyd R. Mans on Aug. 9, 1958, in Le Center. They lived in Cleveland, Cottonwood and Mankato before moving to Blooming Prairie in 1969.

Rita was a church organist in Mankato and Cottonwood. A member of St. Columbanus Catholic Church and Music Mothers, Rita enjoyed listening to music, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Mans of Blooming Prairie; six sons, Christopher (Sheryl) Mans of Blooming Prairie; Gregory Mans of Minneapolis; Anthony (Mary) Mans of Little Canada; Martin Mans of Dallas, Texas; Kevin Mans of Blooming Prairie; Vincent (Patty) Mans of New Brighton; one daughter, Rosemarie Mans of Richfield; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Keith Hobday of Lake Crystal; one sister, Mary Jo (Jay) Sowieja of Cleveland; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2003, at St. Columbanus Catholic Church with Father Richard Dernek officiating. Rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. and a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday at Blooming Prairie Worlein Funeral Home. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday at Blooming Prairie Worlein Funeral Home and at the church one hour before the service. Interment is at St. Columbanus Cemetery.

Lorraine H. Seavey, 71

Lorraine H. Seavey, 71, formerly of Austin, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Fieldcrest Care Center, Hayfield.

She was born March 20, 1931, in Lockhart, to Howard and Josephine (Geving) Clayton. She attended Austin Public Schools and married Donald E. Seavey on June 4, 1947, in Brownsdale.

Lorraine was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church and enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, antiquing and music.

Survivors include children and spouses, Judith and James Lumley, New Hampton, Iowa; Marilyn and Burton Boe, West Concord; Donald Seavey, Winona; Jane and Charles Surat, St. Bonifacious; six granddaughters; three step-granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia (Thomas) Judd, Sheridan, Wyo.; brother, John (Barbara) Clayton, Sheridan, Wyo.; aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1975; parents; and sister, Joan Hagen.

Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at the funeral home and Wednesday at the church for one hour before the service.

Service: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Stohlmann officiating. Casket bearers will be Judith and James Lumley, Marilyn and Burton Boe, Jane and Charles Surat, Donald Seavey, and John Clayton.
