When officers arrived, they discovered a male brandishing a handgun, who approached the front door of the residence, where a female came to greet him.

The female, later identified as his sister, was ordered to exit the house, according to the report, and she left with two small children.

Then, the male suspect went into the home. When one of the officers followed him inside the dwelling, he discovered another officer had taken the male juvenile into custody.

The officers discovered the handgun outside the residence where it had been tossed by the juvenile. It was found to be loaded with three rounds of .22 caliber ammunition: two in the magazine and one behind the hammer of the gun, according to the police report

No shots were fired before officers arrived or while the standoff ensued Tuesday night.

According to statements by witnesses, the male suspect was upset because the parents of a teenager girl he had impregnated no longer allowed the girl and boy to see each other.

After taking his statement in which the suspect denied pointing the gun at his sister, the youth was taken to the Many Rivers Juvenile Detention Center at Rochester.

The youth faces second degree assault charges, according to police.

Seek suspect

Austin police are looking for a man suspected of assaulting Mark Gosch and stealing a gold necklace from the victim.

Gosch told an Austin Police Department investigator he attended a party at Mandolin Apartments in southwest Austin Tuesday afternoon.

When he left, a car driven by the suspect prevented Gosch's vehicle from leaving the Mandolin Apartments parking lot.

Gosch told police he got out of his car and went to the suspect who proceeded to strike him several times in the face until he fell to the ground. While Gosch was lying on the ground, he claims the suspect tore a gold necklace from his neck and drove off, according to police reports.

Gosch did not require medical treatment.

Still no charges

Mower County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Mark May said today no charges have been filed in connection with a possible methamphetamine lab incident.

Two brothers were apprehended and questioned shortly after the December 2002 methamphetamine laboratory explosion and fire at LeRoy.

May said today, the two brothers lived at a residence where the explosion and fire occurred in a garage. However, they were released after questioning.

Two other suspects seen running from the scene are being sought.

Despite the fact no methamphetamine product was discovered in the garage, some materials used in the manufacture of methamphetamine as well as equipment needed were in the garage.

The chief deputy said he and Mower County Attorney Patrick W. Flanagan are still reviewing the case for possible charges.
