The fifth-ranked Austin girls' basketball team received the top seed for the Section 1AAA postseason tournament and will host Farmington next Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinal round.

The Packers (18-4) still have unfinished business in the Big Nine Conference, finishing the regular season on the road at Mankato West tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Austin, at 13-4 in league play, is tied with Rochester Mayo atop the conference standings. Mayo plays at Faribault tonight.

Austin can guarantee itself at least a share of the conference crown with a win tonight, and the Packers will win it outright if they win and Mayo loses. AHS has won six of its last seven games.

Faribault is the second-seed in Section 1AAA, Winona is the third seed and New Prague is fourth.

Rosemount, the sixth seed, returns two starters from last year's state qualifier. The Irish defeated Austin in last year's first round and advanced to state with a sub-.500 record.
