Art students able to display work

A year ago it was just a possibility.
Riverland Community College art instructor Tim Jones and then-president Gary Rhodes discussed opening an art gallery to display student and community art.
With the help of art instructor Deb Schnell and administrators, the gallery opened Jan. 20 on the west campus.
The first exhibit features artwork from first semester art classes. The projects displayed range from drawings, to paintings to sculptures.
Of those taking art classes, some students are choosing to pursue it for careers, such as architecture or teaching. Others aren't quite sure where art will take them.
