Recent warm temperatures have made it seem like springtime.

But before we know it, March and April will be here, which also means that tornado season will arrive soon.

For those who may want to be prepared on how to respond or help in such a disaster, an introduction to disaster training session may be the right class to take. The event will take place tonight from 6 to 10 p.m. at the LeRoy High School media center. For information or registration, call the Mower County chapter of the American Red Cross at 437-4589.

The Mower County Licensed Child Care Association will host a training opportunity entitled "Fetal Alcohol Syndrome." The event takes place at 7 p.m. at the Christian Education Building.

And for those of us who may have eaten a bit too much over the holidays, there will be a Take Off Pounds Sensibly meeting from 5:45

to 7 p.m. tonight at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin.
