Webber sets another record

The Austin boys’ swimming and diving team finished fifth at the 10-team Rochester Invitational on Saturday at the Rochester Recreation Center.
Beau Webber set a new Austin High School record for an 11-dive meet and finished second in the competition with a score of 457.90. Webber was the former record holder with a 432.55 that helped Austin earn second at its own invitational last weekend.
The Packers did not have any other swimmers or divers finish in the top three spots.
Other highlights during the meet included the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Derek Hall, Levi Van Pelt, Josh Hall, and Ethan Simonson, who placed fourth in that event with a time of 1:36.23.
Simonson, Van Pelt, Jacob Rausch and Carl Bauer finished fifth in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:36.63.
Chase Kusterer, Ben Peterson, Erik Sherman and Hall swam into sixth place in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:53.40.
The Packers’ next meet will be at Mankato East on Friday at 6 p.m.
