Donald D. Sletten, 79

Donald D. Sletten, 79, of Austin, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 30, 1923, in Kiester Township, to Albert and Alma (Nelson) Sletten.

He worked in the laundry department of Minnesota State Hospital in Faribault until 1966 when he moved to Austin and was employed at Cedar Valley Services.

Don enjoyed playing softball and bowling. In his later years he enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings on television.

Survivors include brothers, Kenneth (Iva) Sletten, Clarks Grove; Arnold (Elaine) Sletten, Brownsdale; Richard Sletten, Lake Mills, Iowa; sister, Helen Raviell, Chatfield; sister-in-law, Anna Mae Sletten, Twin Lakes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl and Henry Sletten; and sister, Violet Haugen.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Service: 1 p.m. memorial service Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at the funeral home with Pastor Ronald Barnett officiating.
