Invasion of Iraq is imminent

President Bush struck a chord with many during Tuesday night's State of the Union address, saying "a future lived at the mercy of terrible threats is no peace at all."
Why should we -- and our allies across the globe -- have to constantly look over our shoulder at the thought of terrorism or other shenanigans by people like Saddam Hussein?
Bush vows that Secretary of State Colin Powell will give the U.N. Security Council fresh evidence that Iraq is stockpiling weapons of mass destruction that could harm countries that border Iraq, including allies in Israel, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
There's some nations -- particularly France and Germany -- that are balking at Bush's insistence on invading Iraq. They want more time.
We have a hunch that after Powell hands over hard evidence next week, those two nations may have a change of heart. If theydon't, they'll be on the outside looking in when the invasion of Iraq begins.
