The new Austin City Council will hold its first meeting Monday. At the meeting newly-elected council members will be introduced and take the Oath of Office including Council Member-at Large Wayne Goodnature, and 2nd Ward Council Member Dick Pacholl.

Appointments for city attorney, engineer and city recorder/treasurer will also go for approval. The board will vote on a motion to approve the Mayor's appointments to boards and commissions and authorities for 2003. Appointments include the Library Board, Park and Recreation Board and Police Civil Service Commission.

In addition the board will vote on resolutions extending a vote of thanks to exiting council members Dick Chaffee, Dick Lang and Jeanne Poppe.

The meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
