Blooming Prairie knew how to win in overtime because they'd done it before, and knowing was half the battle.

The Blossom boys' basketball team scored the first six points in overtime and stayed on top through the remainder in a 54-51 Gopher/Valley Conference victory over Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Friday night in Waterville.

Blooming Prairie beat Kenyon-Wanamingo 42-40 in overtime Tuesday night in a non-conference clash.

WEM's Brent Vollbrecht hit a last-second jumper to send the game into the extra period, where Blooming Prairie (6-0, 3-0) came out gunning and got the momentum back from the host team. The Blossoms never trailed in the game and held a huge 38-19 advantage on the boards.

Jon Peterson, David Kramer and Kraig Olson all scored in double-digits. Peterson and Olson both had double-doubles.

"Those three guys came up big," said BPHS coach John Bruns.

Peterson led the team with 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Olson added 15 points and 10 boards. Kramer added seven assists to his 17 points. Kramer netted all four of the team's three-pointers.

Blake Symes and Lynn Chheang each added two points to complete the Blossoms' scoring.

Dane Roemhildt led the Buccaneers with 20 points before fouling out, and Vollbrecht finished with 13.
