Both Lyle/Pacelli and host Glenville-Emmons were searching for their first win, and how fitting that the suspense lasted an extra period.

Meier scored 15 points -- all on three-pointers -- to help G-E (1-1, 1-2) end its winless ways. Lyle/Pacelli (0-2 SEC) dropped to 0-4 overall.
L/P's Joey Greibrok led all players with 22 poitns, including four three-pointers. Nick Ehret chipped in with 14 and Nels Nelson added nine.

Cardinals clobber GM
Chad Orum had a double-double before halftime and the LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals rolled to an 80-45 rout of Grand Meadow in both team's Southeast Conference opener Tuesday night in LeRoy.
The Cardinals (3-0, 1-0) hammered out a 19-2 lead through the first period and cruised through the remainder. Orum led all players with 25 points and 13 rebounds, and three others for L-O reached double figures. Dustin Thorson scored 12 points, Paul Hanks had 11 and Nate Miller added 10.
"That was pretty much the beginning of the end," L-O coach Russ Foster said of the one-sided first quarter. "We got off to the good start we wanted to. For the first time this year we came out and played at our level."
The defending Section 1A runners-up scored 23 points in each of the second and third quarters in the eventual rout. L-O hit 31-58 shots from the floor for a 53 percent accuracy rate.
Kyle Breitbarth led the visiting Superlarks (1-1, 0-1) with 22 points. Anthony Stejskal added 11 points and Justin Olson contributed seven.
