Barry Klapperich, 49

Barry Klapperich, 49, of Whitefish, Montana, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002.

Barry was born July 23, 1953 in Osage, Iowa, to Lawrence and Esther Klapperich. He grew up on the family farm near Stacyville, Iowa. He attended school in Meyer and St. Ansgar, Iowa.

On Dec. 15, 1979 he married Beverly Fisher in Riceville, Iowa.

They moved to Montana in 1981 and have one daughter, Tina.

Barry enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Tina, fishing, camping, hiking, horseback riding, spending time with friends and family, playing cards and golfing.

Barry was a guide on horseback tours in Glacier National Park, he did ranch work and trained

and showed horses. He also guided hunting and fishing trips into the Bob Marshall and Great Bear Wilderness areas. He and his wife owned and operated Spring Prairie Garden in Whitefish, Montana.

Barry is survived by his wife, Bev, and daughter, Tina, of Whitefish, Montana; his parents, Lawrence & Esther Klapperich, of Stacyville, Iowa, brother Owen Klapperich (Linda) of Kalispell, Montana, sister Rose Schubert (Dave) of Austin, brother Reid Klapperich (Barb) of Stacyville, Iowa, sister Dorette Fravel (Leonard) Cresco, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.

Barry was preceded in death by their daughter Julie Ellen Klapperich and a sister, Judy.

A private viewing was held earlier this week and cremation has taken place.

Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 at Stillwater Free Lutheran Church, 1401 Church Drive Kalispell, Montana with Tim Bartholomew officiating. Another service will be held later this month in Meyer, Iowa.

Memorials: An educational fund for Tina in care of the Whitefish Credit Union, 300 Baker Ave. Whitefish, Montana 59937.

Bette M. Hanson, 80

Bette M. (Odden) Hanson, 80, of Mission, Texas, formerly of Austin, died Oct. 27, 2002, at her home.

Survivors include daughters and son, Judy (Manly) Osborn of Nicollet; Donald (Alice) Hanson of Austin; Janet (John) Gerber of River Falls, Wis.; Susan (Eric) Osterberg of Minneapolis; Shirley (Stan) Weiss of Daphne, Ala.; Connie Bilotta of Vadnais Heights; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Schupp of Austin; brother-in-law, Wayne Bell of Austin; brother and sister-in-law, Larry (Pat) Avery of Forest Lake.

She was preceded in death by her husband, G. Sheldon Hanson.

Service: 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center in Austin.
