Funny how we can take something lightly for granted.

However, with the completion of a new 18th Avenue NW, it's another sign of progress that will benefit Austin and area residents.

Those associated with the project were confident that construction on the road would be completed by the end of the month. It's a credit to them that their work is finished today, which is just in time for the onslaught of shoppers when the Christmas shopping season unofficially starts Friday.

Soon, the Packer Arena project will also be finished. Having these both of these construction projects finished will only benefit this area, and also convey to others that Austin is making progress with its infrastructure.
