The Austin Area Artists Series starts its season this weekend with "Three Hits and a Miss."
The show starts at 3 p.m. Sunday in Knowlton Auditorium, with doors opening at 2:15 p.m. A season ticket, which is needed to view the performance, entitles the bearer to view other shows which will be offered in February, April and May of next year, respectively.
Ticket prices, which are the same as last year, are $25 for adults, $55 for a family and $10 for students.
Going with the play theme, the Matchbox Children's Theatre will be presenting "Schoolhouse Rock Live!," with performances at 7 p.m. tonight and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Paramount Theatre. Tickets are $5.50, or $4 for those under 14 or over 62.
The Riverland Theatre Department will present "The Boys Next Door" at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in the Frank W. Bridges Theatre at Riverland Community College. Tickets are $8 and are available at Nemitz's and the Riverland Box Office.
If you'd rather get more into the holiday spirit, head on over to the Hormel Historic Home and check out its annual open house. Rooms throughout the home will be decorated by area merchants and cake, cider and coffee will be served. Cost for the event is $5, which will benefit the Hormel Home.
