Area towns re-elect mayors

Ed Koppen was re-elected mayor of LeRoy in the Nov. 5 general elections.

Koppen survived a challenge from Al Billings to win his sixth term as LeRoy's mayor.

Koppen received 316 votes and Billings 118 for a more than 2-to-1 victory for the incumbent.

A total of 453 votes were cast, according to Patty White, city clerk.

Incumbent council member, Harold Shipman was re-elected

with 341 votes.

Newcomer Ron Deike also won a seat on the LeRoy City Council with a 318 vote total.

Deike will fill the seat previously occupied by Linda Sanders, who did not file for re-election.

Hayfield results

Dave Santjer won re-election to another term as Hayfield's mayor.

Santjer received 541 votes for the largest total of any office-seeker in the Hayfield municipal elections.

He was unopposed.

Incumbent council member Joel Fritze was re-elected to a four-year term with 453 votes.

Another incumbent, Matthew O'Brien also was re-elected to a four-year term with 397 votes.

Mary Peterson, 433 votes and Mark Western, an incumbent, 289 votes, won election to two-year terms on the Hayfield City Council.

Tim Severson received 219 votes.

Baudoin back

When the new year begins, Jim Baudoin will continue doing what he has done for several years now.

He will be the mayor of his hometown.

Baudoin was re-elected to another term last Tuesday in an unopposed bid for re-election.

He received 359 votes to earn another two-year term as Grand Meadow's mayor.

Two incumbent city council members were re-elected. Steve Thorsen received 322 votes and James Bloom, 228, to win seats on the Grand Meadow City council.

John Bachman received 147 votes.
