Zelda E. Gigstead, 60
Zelda Ellen Gigstead, 60, of Blooming Prairie, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at Prairie Manor Nursing Home, Blooming Prairie.
She was born April 5, 1942, in Chester, Iowa, to Everand and Mabel (Scholl) Truman. She grew up in Chester, Iowa, graduating in 1960 from Chester High School.
On Nov. 19, 1966, she married Lane Gigstead in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. They lived in Sheboygan, Wis. and then Riddle, Ore.
Returning to Minnesota in 1985, Zelda graduated from Austin Community College in 1986. She had worked for Federated Insurance in Owatonna since 1989.
Survivors include husband, Lane Gigstead, Blooming Prairie; son, Kyle Gigstead; daughter, Kari Gigstead, both of Estes Park, Colo.; brother, Gerald (Harriett) Truman, LeRoy.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Service: Memorial services will be at a later date.

Peggy J. Hauer, 75
Peggy J. Hauer, age 75, of Austin, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, of a lingering illness at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
She was born Sept. 21, 1927, in Austin, Minn. to Bert and Winifred (Klock) Ferguson.
She married Harold Hauer on May 1, 1948, in Austin.
Peggy was a member of the National Humane Society and Church of The Open Bible in Austin. She was active in her church and was a past president of the Women's Auxiliary,
She loved to bake bread and sew patchwork quilts to share with her family and many friends. She was a lifetime dog fancier, who supported animal shelters and enjoyed the company of her own dog BB.
Peggy will be missed by her friends and family, especially by her grandson, Victor Alwes.
Memorials are preferred to the Church of The Open Bible or the Mower County Humane Society.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. at Church of the Open Bible with Pastor Mike Juntunen officiating. Interment will be in the Enterprise Cemetery in Austin. Visitation will be held at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday one hour before the service.
Organist will be Ruth Sweetser. Honorary bearers will be Rick Ferguson and Richard Loomis. Casket bearers will be Dwight Ferguson, Michael Ferguson, Terry Ferguson, Bradley Heilman, Victor Vaughn Alwes and Greg Howden.
She is survived by: daughters and sons-in-law: Bette Jo and Bradley Heilman of Mankato, Minn.; Glenda and Richard Loomis of Sunrise, Fla.; grandson: Victor Vaughn Alwes of Fresno, Calif.; brother: Bert M. Ferguson of Austin, Minn.; sister: Gladys Howden of Austin, Minn.; nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold in 1996; three sisters and four brothers.
Robert C. Meyer, 43
Robert C. Meyer, 43, of Oakland, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at Valkyrie Home, Rochester.
He was born July 25, 1959, in Albert Lea, to Leonard A. and Ardelle (Anderson) Meyer.
Survivors include father, Leonard A. Meyer, Oakland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Duane and Linda Meyer, Austin; Leonard S. and Barbara Meyer, Oakland; Darrell and Pamela Meyer, Albert Lea; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ardelle Meyer; and brother, Bruce Meyer.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
Service: 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at the funeral home with Rev. Bob Seifert officiating. Casket bearers will be Chad Meyer, Philip Meyer, Dustin Meyer and Adam Meyer.
Interment: Hillcrest Cemetery, Albert Lea.
