The Hayfield Vikings played their most complete match of the season by beating Rochester Lourdes in three, 16-14, 15-6, 15-11, in Rochester Tuesday night. The win upped Hayfield's overall mark to 5-13 and 2-5 in the Hiawatha Valley League.
"This was our best complete match of the season," said Hayfield coach Deb Harvey. "We have played well before but only for a little while -- never a whole match."
Lauren Burmeister led the way with 11 kills, nine digs and 13 service points. Alyssa Nelson made six blocks and five kills, and Kristen Kaczmarek added four of each. Erin Gulbransen dished out 13 assists to go along with a team-high five aces.
