The top-rated LeRoy-Ostrander football team continued its dominance again Friday night as the Cardinals soundly defeated the host GHECML Mustangs, 64-6.

The scoring was both an offensive and defensive effort. The offensive barrage came by way of one passing and eight running touchdowns, while defensive pressure deep into enemy territory caused a high snap from the Mustangs center that sailed over the quarterback's head and out the back of the end zone -- resulting in a safety.

Kellen Bucknell and Dustin Thorson each contributed two rushing touchdowns that made up four of the six Cardinal touchdowns in the first half.

Ben Adams and Mitch Lunning added 12- and 14-yard running touchdowns respectively.

Eric Nelson and Lance Peters contributed 7-yard scores in the third quarter --

Nelson's was by air, Peters came via the run.

The fourth quarter provided two long touchdown runs. The first was by LeRoy-Ostrander's Jostin Vreeman, who took the ball and his defenders for a 51-yard jaunt that proved to be L-O's last score of the game. The other long run was by Tyler Nawrocki.

Nawrocki scored GHECML's only points on a 58-yard scamper that kept the Mustangs from being shut out.

LeRoy-Ostrander finished with 442 offensive yards, 366 which came by the way of the ground game.

The Mustangs were held to only 43 yards rushing and 74 yards passing.

L-O dominated first downs 19-4.

Nelson carried the ball 11 times for 105 yards, while Adams was nine for 65 yards, Vreeman five for 60 yards and Bucknell had seven touches for 33 yards.

Rowe was 3-of-4 passing for 76 yards and one touchdown.

LeRoy-Ostrander improves its record to 6-0 in the Southern Confederacy Conference and 7-0 overall.

The No. 1 ranked Cardinals will host their last game of the regular season in LeRoy Wednesday against the sixth-ranked ranked Nicollet Raiders (6-0, 7-0).
