Cleaota M. Lewis, 94

Cleaota Margurite Lewis, age 94, of Stew-artville, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at Stewartville Care Center.

Cleaota was born Aug. 4, 1908, at Rugby, N.D., the daughter of Jack and Katherine (Klenk) Porath.

She graduated from the Delavan High School and the Wells Normal School. She taught school in rural one-room schools prior to her marriage to Clarence O. "Toots" Lewis on June 2, 1931, at Wells, Minn.

The couple farmed in the Easton and Delavan areas before moving to Lansing in 1936. In 1974, they moved to Austin where Cleaota resided until she moved to the Stewartville Care Center.

She was a member of the Lansing United Methodist Church, UMW, the Golden Age Club and the St. Olaf Hospital Auxiliary. "Thanks for the memories Gram."

Cleaota was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Richard and Robert.

She is survived by her sister, Arlene Kirschner of Wells, Minn.; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Lewis of Rochester, Minn.; grandchildren, Kris Ann Lewis Anderson of Rosemount, Minn.; James R. Lewis of Colfax, Wis.; Jane Henderson of Menomonie, Wis.; Sue Slightam of Stewartville, Minn.; Marny Lewis Billings of Stewartville, Minn.; 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday morning.

Service: Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Lansing United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dennis Tamke officiating. Honorary bearers will be Karly Lewis, Sally Anderson, Anna Billings and Chloe Billings. Casket bearers will be Cody Lewis Anderson, Paul Richard Henderson, Jeffry Allan Henderson, Peter James Lewis, Samuel Thomas Slightam, Griffin James Slightam and Cooper Josh Billings.

Interment: In the Lansing Cemetery, Lansing.

Funeral Home: Clasen-Jordan Mortuary, Austin.

Josephine A. Percival, 60

Josephine (Jo Ann) Percival, of Austin, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002.

She was born Aug. 12, 1942, in Owatonna, the daughter of Donald and Oney Percival.

She worked and lived in Rochester for many years. She remained working in Rochester, but returned to live in Austin three years ago. It was very important to her to be close to family.

Survivors include brothers, Jim (Colleen) Percival of Austin, John Percival of Austin, David (Mary Lou) Percival of St. Paul; sister, Linda (Doug) Braaten of Austin; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law, niece and great nephew.

A private family memorial will be held.
