Vehicle rolls over after hitting tree

A 48-year-old Austin woman was taken to the Austin Medical Center after her vehicle hit a tree and rolled over Tuesday.

According to police reports, a witness talked to the woman in Driesner Park shortly before the 7 p.m. accident and told officers her speech was slurred, her eyes were bloodshot.

The witness says after he spoke with her, she put her two dogs in her vehicle and started to drive away. Another witness said the vehicle then appeared to hit a tree and roll over.

She was taken to the AMC, where she agreed to a blood test. Police said she will be charged by formal complaint after the results from her blood test are received.
